Joe Jencks Sings and Preaches for Sunday Service
1025 N. Smith Road, Palatine, IL 60067
One of the great pleasure in my touring life is when the Unitarians are gracious enough to offer the pulpit to a touring musician like myself. It is an act of trust and an honor to be so welcomed in another's house of worship.
I anticipate musing on the Beatitudes, the Ten Commandments, and what it means to work for a just and peaceful sociaty. Focusing less on the traditional authoritarian interpretation of the big 10, and more on the gentle call to justice inherent in those words and so gently reiterated in the teachings of Jesus. Even as UUs, we still have plenty to learn from our religious roots.
In addition, there will be a lot of groovey singing!
